Double glory for Derby in national student accommodation survey

The University of Derby has scooped two awards in the prestigious National Student Housing Survey (NSHS) 2015.

Sir Peter Hilton Court

The annual survey, conducted by independent market research agency Red Brick Research, requires a satisfaction rating regarding all types of accommodation including rented private housing and halls of residence, and allows participating institutions to measure their performance against national and regional benchmarks.

This year the survey attracted more than 22,000 responses from over 200 universities and colleges across the UK, marking excellence in student accommodation.

Derby ranked highest in the categories:

The best ratings for recycling and environmental facilities

The best ratings for the overall booking experience.

Angela Dunkley, Derbyshire Student Residences Limited (DSRL) Customer Services Manager, said: “We are very proud to have won two awards in this year’s National Student Housing Survey.

“To win these awards out of such a large number of accommodation providers is really something to celebrate and we are thrilled to have achieved these. It is really great news for all of us at Student Living.”

Last year, the University won the title of Best Customer Service and Best Environmental Management.

The University of Derby was also recently ranked fifth in the Daily Telegraph’s top 10 universities for accommodation.
