Ongoing activities

Our regular weekly and fortnightly events are a great way to meet like-minded people and connect with your community. Whether you're into wellness, creativity, or just having fun, there's something for everyone. Choose from weekly yoga and cookery classes, fortnightly creative arts sessions, or join us for board game and film nights.

We also run a lively sports programme and would love to hear what sports you'd like to get involved in.

For fans of fantasy and storytelling, our vibrant Dungeons and Dragons (D&D) community hosts regular meetups across several halls. Whether you're a seasoned player or curious to try it out, you're welcome to join in.

To get involved, share ideas, or give feedback, email us at socialreps@derby.ac.uk.

A place called home

Staff are always on-site so feel free to pop into the office for a friendly chat or, if you are experiencing any problems, talk to your Hall Manager. The Residential Assistants and cleaners do weekly flat visits so you’ll soon get to know your whole halls team. Another bonus is the on-site common room which includes a free pool table, Playstation four, large TV and board games. Students can also book the room for free for a private gathering with friends. Just speak to your Hall Manager and they’ll be happy to help you arrange it.

Watch as students Harry, Tan, Charley and Jack, let you into their day-to-day lives, talking about their own experiences and what they love about halls. From exploring Derby or cooking in halls, to being a part of halls events or meeting up with society friends, this will give you a true flavour of life in halls.
