Simon is the Programme Leader for the BEng Civil Engineering (Apprenticeship) and has over ten years of teaching experience. He is a member of the Internal Masonry Society (MIMS) and has experience as a civil and structural engineer within a design consultancy. He is reading for a PhD in Masonry Design from the University of Leeds.

As a Senior Lecturer in Sports Coaching across the Sport and Exercise Science programmes, Jon supports students from a range of programmes with their learning, teaching and assessment activities, as well as supporting students with accessing work placements and internship opportunities as part of their degree and wider development.

Dr Jianfei Xie is a Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Derby. His research interests lie within fluid mechanics and heat/mass transfer and computational approaches.

I am working in the direction of therapeutic nanocrystal production and target-oriented drug designing. Through applying advanced protein engineering skills, we are developing novel nanomedicines that can replace current painful injectable therapies. I have also significantly contributed toward research-informed teaching in various higher education settings.

Professor Zhiyin Yang's main role is to carry out high-quality research and lead research activities in the area of Thermofluids. He is a world-leading expert in large-eddy simulation (LES) and separated flow transition with more than 110 publications. He also teaches on Mechanical/Motorsport Engineering courses and is the Chair of the College Research Ethic Committee.

Prior to joining the University of Derby as a Senior Lecturer in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering, Jilin spent a couple of years in research positions at Loughborough University and the University of Warwick.

Dr Hongqing Yu also known as Harry is a Senior Lecturer in Computer Science and Programme Leader of MSc Big Data Analytics. He mainly teaches on the topics involved in Data Science, Machine learning and AI technologies. 

Dr Shuge Zhang is a chartered psychologist of the British Psychological Society and a member of the Human Sciences Research Centre (HSRC) at the University of Derby. His research centres on personality and individual differences in performance and health.

Georgios is a Forensic Science Lecturer, his research combines elements of biochemistry, genetics, nanotechnology and toxicology to address issues in forensic, environmental and biomedical settings related to biological identification and toxicity
