About

I am a Lecturer at the University of Derby, with a multidisciplinary background in protein engineering, therapeutic proteins, and nanotechnology. My academic journey spans several prestigious institutions, where I have combined research excellence with a strong commitment to teaching and academic mentorship.

Prior to my current role, I was a Research Associate at Loughborough University. During this time, my work focused on developing new methods for Regenerative Biocrystallisation.

Previously, I held a Postdoctoral Research Associate (PDRA) position at the University of Oxford, where I explored Dog Tag-catcher system to support the development of orthogonal toolbox of molecular superglues. Prior to that, I was a Visiting Researcher at Uppsala University, where I worked on the phage display technology to probe the human dark proteome and protein interaction networks.

Teaching responsibilities

Currently, I am supporting various modules of biomedical science undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

Research interests

My research interests continue to centre around therapeutic protein design, molecular biotechnology, and translational applications of protein nanostructures. I am passionate about integrating innovative research into teaching and fostering the next generation of scientists in the field of biotechnology and biomedicine.

My lab hosts undergraduate and master's level projects and internships, with a focus on the therapeutic nanocrystal design and protein engineering. Please get in touch if you are interested in projects in these areas.

We are currently recruiting PhD studentships for projects related to our research interests. Informal enquiries are welcome at any time.
