As Course Director for the School of Built and Natural Environment, Dr Anne Danby works on improving the curriculum and the student experience. She is Chair of the Northern Universities Consortium and specialises in curriculum development, credit and assessment. She teaches ecology, mycology and environmental sustainability and has a vibrant consultancy portfolio.

Dr. Uchenna Diala is a Senior Lecturer in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, in the School of Engineering, at the University of Derby. He currently leads and teaches the following modules: Engineering Applications and Professional Development, Engineering Workshop, Renewable and Smart Energy Systems, Electronic Communication Systems, and Control Systems and Electrical Machines.

A passionate educator, Samantha is the Learning and Teaching Lead for the discipline. Her scientific research focuses on the application of analytical chemistry to real world challenges.

Lecturer in Clinical Genetics

Aparna Duggirala is a Lecturer in Clinical Genetics at the University of Derby. She is a molecular geneticist with a strong background in cell and molecular biology. She performs biomarker discovery and teaches undergraduate and postgraduate students on human metabolic diseases.

Lecturer - Biomedical Sciences

Lecturer (Derby Scholar) in Biomedical Sciences, attached to the UoD Biomedical and Clinical Science Research Theme. Dr Edris has a research interest in rehabilitation medicine and related technology. Dr Edris has teaching experience at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels and currently contributes to the teaching of various modules within the College of Science and Engineering.

Associate Professor in Microbiology

Dr. David Elliott is a microbial ecologist specialising in the roles of microbes in low productivity soils including drylands and the cryosphere. He leads the BSc (hons) Biology programme and teaches a variety of topics in Human and Environmental Sciences.
