The 6th Games@Derby Expo is the culmination of a final year project that provides Computer Games Artists the opportunity to collaborate with Computer Games Programmers. The brief for the project changes each year - during 2017 the programme was honoured to have Playground Games, a AAA developer located in Leamington Spa who have received critical acclaim for Forza 3, to set the brief.

Representatives from several major game studios attended the event to chat with students and academics. Those studio representatives attending included Playground Games, Rare, Sumo Digital, Cloud Imperium, Bulkhead Studios and Sega.

During the expo there were several guest talks including ‘How to get into the game’ by Jess Hider the community manager for Unreal Engine. Also developers from Cloud Imperium discussed the technical and artistic approach for 'Constructing Capital ships' in Star Citizen.

Presentations will be confirmed shortly for this year’s Expo.
