Nigel Baxter


Married with three grown up children, Nigel Baxter (52) was educated at Thomas Magnus Grammar School in Newark (Nottinghamshire) before attending the well-known Brackenhurst Agricultural College, Nottinghamshire (now part of Nottingham Trent University).

For two years, after leaving Brackenhurst Nigel worked in agriculture before joining the family business the RH Group Ltd in 1983. He is part of the entrepreneurial Baxter family who built up and developed the independent road transport firm RH Group Ltd.  As a Director at RH, Nigel developed the Group’s freight transport, commercial vehicle and truck rental operations. In 2011 the company was sold to the Swiss international logistics firm Kuehne and Nagel.

In 2012 Nigel led a team and re-acquired part of the RH Group, RH Commercial Vehicles (RHCV), from Kuehne and Nagel.  He is now Managing Director of RHCV which is an authorised Renault Trucks distributor, specialising in sales, parts and servicing for heavy and light commercial vehicles from its head office in Nottingham, plus sites in Leicester and Alfreton (Derbyshire).  Employing a team of 69 in total, Nigel is also Managing Director of RH Development (Property) Ltd – a specialist property development and angel investment business.

Nigel is also an experienced arable farmer and currently farms 800 acres in rural Nottinghamshire.
