Time:

5.30-6.30pm

Venue:

University of Derby, Kedleston Road, Derby, DE22 1GB

About the lecture:

Career education and guidance can help individuals to realise their potential. However, recent government policy has reduced access to services at the same time as pursuing educational, social and labour market policies that worsen inequality and mitigate against social justice.

In this lecture Tristram Hooley draws on his work in the UK and overseas to consider the future of career education systems in an unequal world.

Professor Hooley will explore potential responses to new political challenges, and the implications of more clearly tying career education to the concept of social justice for policy and practice in the field.
