Following a successful debut run of, The Same Sky – A Musical, Open Road Productions are delighted to announce that they will return to the Guildhall Theatre in Derby with a brand new musical, Silver Darling from Tuesday 27th June to Saturday 1st July.

A tale of a poor fishing community on the Yorkshire Coast in the years just before World War Two. Britain is still trying to recover from a huge depression, time are hard for everyone. Finding it hard to make ends meet, the villagers struggle to keep their business afloat. No fish no money!

Made in the Midlands, the songs are written by the acclaimed songwriter Phil Baggaley, most noted for his work with Derby folk group, The Open Road. The story was written by Southwell-based author Tim Harvey.

Beautifully designed by Maria Terry and directed by Daniel Ellis and songs and a script that will move you deeply. The story is brought to life buy an ensemble of gifted actors accompanied by a twelve-piece band.
