Just over a year after a highly emotive panel event based around The Honor Diaries documentary, we have the pleasure of welcoming back 2008 honorand, Jasvinder Sanghera CBE, for a special guest lecture and book signing.

Open to the public, the lecture will cover:

  • An understanding of honour systems and honour codes within family dynamics
  • Timeline of a potential honour based abuse/forced marriage victim
  • Identifying honour based abuse and forced marriage
  • An insight into new forced marriage criminal law and forced marriage protection officers
  • Options for victims and professional guidance/support
  • The updated edition of Shame

'Shame' 2016 edition

Following the lecture, Jasvinder will be signing copies of Shame, the bestselling memoir of her family's complicity in arranged marriage, and her fear, escape and subsequent disownment.

The new edition updates her story to present day, where she sits as one of the Women of the Year, the founder of the Karma Nirvana, charity, and having set up a national Day of Memory for Britain’s Lost Women.
