Simulated patients training Venue OL1, University of Derby, Kedleston Road, Derby, DE22 1GB

Event date: Tuesday, 30 May 2017 at 2.00 PM
Running until: Tuesday, 30 May 2017 at 4.00 PM

University of Derby lecturers Iain Neely and Naomi Shiner along with a number of other colleagues we are leading the development of an exciting new initiative using simulated patients to help recreate training scenarios for student nurses, student radiographers and occupational therapists.

Simulated patients are members of the public and students from the University who we train to simulate a patient with a medical condition during scenarios to train healthcare students.

We are now looking for members of the public who would be interested in taking part in this process as simulated patients and being a part of training our nurses and radiographers for the future. Full training will be given and there is an hourly payment for these sessions. Typically sessions last two hours.  If you have experience of being a patient within the NHS this will help but is not essential.

We will be holding an open afternoon on Tuesday 30th May 2pm - 4pm in lecture theatre OL1 at the University of Derby Kedleston Road campus for people who are interested in being part of this exciting opportunity where we can give you more information, and answer any questions you may have prior to committing yourself.
