Women and Allies Network

The Women and Allies Network is a sub-group of the University Equality and Diversity Committee. Current members of the team represent academic staff, professional services and administrative staff across the University.

Throughout the year, they undertake a range of activities and events which cover the consideration of University policies in terms of gender, discussing experiences of different groups of staff and organising a celebration of International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month. The International Women’s Day event brought together representatives from EDIW, UCU union, Fairtrade, Derby Moves, our Careers team, Union of Students, Derby Ravens cheerleaders and music from Phantom Media.

The Women and Allies Network recognises the need to promote, enhance and support the experiences and wellbeing of staff across the University. Working with the Union of Students and network members, we ensure that all issues are addressed and proposals for change are taken forward.
