I am Head of Applied Research within the Research Innovation and Academic Enterprise team.  My role includes oversight of research ethics and integrity, staff development to support RIAE and bid support processes.

Until recently I was Principal Researcher (Young People) at the International Centre for Guidance Studies. I'm a professional social science researcher who has managed numerous research, evaluation, strategy development and consultation projects throughout my career. My clients include government departments, national and regional agencies, and local authorities. At iCeGS I was responsible for developing, delivering and overseeing all research activities, and the work of iCeGS' research teams.

With a background in economic and community development, my research interests include socially excluded, or NEET, young people, factors affecting choices and experiences of transition, Connexions services, and equality and diversity perspectives. I have recently worked on projects associated with the STEM agenda, application of ICT in professional practice, equality and diversity in careers work, corporate careers and evaluations of European projects.  One of my most recent projects was the development of an employability framework for D2N2, our local LEP.
