About

I am a Researcher at the International Centre for Guidance Studies at the University of Derby. I joined the team in March 2020 following the completion of my PhD in Sociology at Cardiff University where I undertook a research project exploring corporate social responsibility and the role of businesses in schools in South Wales. My role in iCeGS sees me planning, designing, organising and assisting in research projects with the wider iCeGS team. Whilst my background is in sociology I have a keen interest in educational research, particularly that which involves careers and engagement.

Research interests

My academic interests are in the area of sociology and education focussing on corporate social responsibility, employer engagement and careers. I am interested in the experiences and attitudes of schools, businesses and young people and how engagement affects different groups.
