It is also included in the mandatory new starter training videos and a key part of the quarterly 'Welcome' events held for all new staff. Staff with any queries are welcome to email the environment team (environment@derby.ac.uk).

For new students, sustainability is included within the Welcome booklet and the virtual induction provided in September each year.

On-campus allotment project

The Union of Students is re-launching its allotment project in 2021, with support from the University Grounds Team. Greenhouses and an allotment space are being set up at Kedleston Road to provide students with the opportunity to grow your own vegetables.

We are looking for student volunteers to help set up and support the project - no prior knowledge of gardening is required! Please contact environment@derby.ac.uk to get involved.

Go Green Week

This year the University held Go Green Week in February 2021. Although this was virtual, we still held several activities including debates, presentations and top tips for becoming more sustainable. If you would like to get involved with next year's Go Green Week please contact environment@derby.ac.uk
