Our academics supervise a number of PhD students who are undertaking further work in this area.

Tony Anosike
Senior Lecturer in Supply Chain Management

Tony's research interests are in the areas of Supply Chain Sustainability and Resilience, Food Supply Chain, Lean and Agile Manufacturing, Industry 4.0, Internet of Things, Blockchain and Big Data applications in supply chain. As well as supervising PhD, MSc/MBA and undergraduate projects, he also teaches across both postgraduate and undergraduate programmes in the Derby Business School.

Jay Daniel
Programme Leader and Senior Lecturer in Logistics and Supply Chain

Dr Jay Daniel is a Programme Leader at Derby Business School. Before joining the University of Derby, Jay was a Lecturer in Supply Chain and Information Systems at the University of Technology Sydney, Australia, and has previously held positions of Senior Management Consultant, Supply Chain Solution Analyst, Project Manager, Industry Trainer and Lead Auditor.

Professor Jose Arturo Garza-Reyes
Professor of Operations Management and Head of the Centre for Supply Chain Improvement

Jose Arturo Garza-Reyes is a Professor of Operations Management and Head of the Centre for Supply Chain Improvement at the University of Derby. He is actively involved in industrial projects, combining his knowledge, expertise and industrial experience in operations management to help organisations achieve excellence in their internal functions and supply chains.

Lecturer in Operations and Supply Chain Management

Colin Hanson-New is a Lecturer in Operations and Supply Chain Management at the University of Derby and is Module Leader for several modules on the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) programme. Colin's main area of interest is in the use of Artificial Intelligence and how it can be applied in the fields of Logistics and Supply Chain.

Professor Qile He is a Professor of Strategy and Performance Management within the College of Business, Law and Social Science at the University of Derby.

Shamalia Ishaq
Senior Lecturer in Operations and Supply Chain Management

Dr Shamaila Ishaq is Senior Lecturer in Operations and Supply Chain Management. She is leading a range of modules on undergraduate, postgraduate and professional programmes in the Operations and Supply Chain Management domain. Along with teaching, she is actively involved in research. Her recent work is in the area of sustainable supply chains and circular economy.

Senior Lecturer in Operations and Supply Chain Management (Procurement)

Pouria is a Senior Lecturer at Derby Business School. He is a Chartered Member of Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) and a Chartered Member of the Institute of Logistics and Transportation (UK). He supervises student projects at undergraduate, postgraduate and DBA (Doctor of Business Administration) levels.

Simon is a Lecturer at the University of Derby. He has earned his PhD from the University of Derby, UK; an Executive MBA from Preston University; and an MBA from American University of Central Asia and is now pursing his PhD with focus on Circular Economy. As a growing researcher, he has published in scientific journals, international conferences and a book chapter.
