Markeaton Street site map text description

A place of innovation and creativity, Markeaton Street is home to our engineering, computing, and mathematics courses as well as art, design, media and performing arts. Our Markeaton Street site is just a 15-minute walk from our Kedleston Road site and is served by the Unibus.  

The site also includes our specialist Chandos Pole Street and STEM Centre buildings. Fashion and Textiles students are based at Chandos Pole Street. The STEM Centre provides computer studios and specialist facilities for engineering, technology, and computing students.

Our Markeaton Site main entrance provides step-free access with a ramp which leads you straight to reception. Lifts and accessible toilets are available on each floor of the campus (Ground Floor, First Floor and Second Floor). Gender-neutral toilets can be found on the ground floor near auditorium 3 and on the first floor near auditorium 2. 

On the ground floor you will find: 

Study areas can be found on the “Street”, which is found on the ground floor and centred on a walkway. This meeting point can also be used for event and exhibition space. Other study areas are on the first floor located next to room 102A (Interior Design) and on the second floor near room 113.  

Please be aware of our fire procedures. If you hear a continuous alarm, please make your way out of the building via the nearest fire exit.
