Kedleston Road site map text description

Kedleston Road is our biggest site and is where many of our courses are taught. It lies on the edge of Derby, just opposite a huge public park, Markeaton Park. We have a range of facilities on site including:

• The Library
• Basecamp (our new social space)
• Eat Central (where you can find a range of hot and cold food and drink options)
• The Union of Students (who are here to provide you with the best possible experience and opportunities during your time with us at university)

Our Kedleston Road site main entrance leads into the Atrium, a large, open-plan social space which provides step-free access to six linked blocks and towers:

• North Tower
• East Tower
• South Tower
• T-Block, including Clinical Skills Suite and Park Medical Practice
• B-Block, including IT Services and Student Services
• The Library

There is also step-free access to the Kirtley Building, which sits between the Library and B-Block, and the Multi-Faith Centre, which is close to the Kedleston Road main entrance.

Lifts and accessible toilets are available in each of the blocks and towers.

Study areas can be found in the Library and in the Learning Curve in the Atrium.

Gender-neutral toilets are on the ground floor in our Kirtley Building, the Mezzanine area of North Tower and the ground floor of South Tower. Baby changing facilities are available in South Tower and the Union of Students.

On the Atrium ground floor, you will find the Union of Students shop (Keddies), Blackwell’s book shop and the Careers and Employment hub.

Please be aware of our fire procedures. If you hear a continuous alarm, please make your way out of the building via the nearest fire exit.

College Student Centres can be found in the East Tower for Arts, Humanities and Education (E201) and Business, Law and Social Sciences (E406), and in the North Tower for Science and Engineering (N614) and Health, Psychology and Social Care (N106).

Outside the main entrance there are bus stops for the Unibus:

• U1 – Bridge Street, city centre, train station
• U2 – Markeaton Street, Britannia Mill

Kedleston Road is home to Derby Business School, our Allied Health and Social Care, Nursing, Midwifery, Psychology, Science and Sports courses.

Our other Derby Campus sites are:

• Markeaton Street - home to our Engineering, Computing and Maths courses, as well as Art, Design, Film and Photography courses
• Chandos Pole Street - home to our Fashion courses
• Britannia Mill - a restored former textile mill home to our Illustration, Interior Design and Fine Art courses, along with Creative Expressive Therapies and Social Care
• One Friar Gate Square - home to our Criminology, Law, Policing and Social Sciences courses
• Derby Theatre - home to our Theatre Arts course

And our halls of residence:

• Flamsteed Court (at Kedleston Road)
• St Christopher’s Court
• Princess Alice Court
• Peak Court
• Darley Bank
• Agard Court

All our Derby sites, except Kedleston Road and Derby Theatre, sit within several blocks of streets between Markeaton Park and Derby city centre. Derby Theatre sits in Derby city centre, close to the bus station and train station.
