Allenton United Football Club, New Kits

Background

Allenton United under 10s are a football team in Derby working with boys from disadvantaged backgrounds. Run by a small team of voluntary coaches, the team aims to help young people get active, grow in confidence and develop self-belief.

How did the Community Fund help?

The Community Fund awarded £350 to Allenton United to help them buy new kits for their players.

James Doyle, from Allenton United Football Club, said: "We are over the moon to receive this generous grant from the University of Derby. It means that our players will be able to play in a quality match kit, proudly displaying the University of Derby emblem. We can’t thank the University enough – not only has it provided great relief for the parents, but the children are so excited too. We look forward to building links with the University further and working with them to create awareness in the local community of all the great work they do."
