FAQs

We’ve tried to answer some questions you may have about the Derby Achievement Scholarship below, but if you have any further queries, please contact the admissions team by email or by phone on +44 (0)1332 591167.

You’ll need to achieve or exceed the highest tariff points within the tariff band of your chosen course. For example, if the entry requirements are 112-120, you will need to achieve 120 or above to receive the scholarship. Qualifications must come from three full A-Levels (or equivalent) in the first sitting. Find out more about other qualifications we accept.

You do not need to apply for the scholarship separately. All you need to do is apply to study at the University of Derby – you can apply directly or through UCAS by 30 June 2022 for the 2022 academic year.

You can receive the scholarship if you are planning to study any full-time undergraduate course offered on campus by the University of Derby. This does not include:

  • Foundation level courses
  • Corporate learning courses
  • Learning Beyond Registration (LBR) courses
  • Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses
  • Accelerated Degrees
  • Apprenticeship courses
  • Postgraduate taught or research courses
  • MSc Pre-registration courses in the College of Health, Psychology & Social Care
  • Online courses
  • Courses with/undertaken at a partnership institution
  • Short courses whether credit or non-credit bearing

You don’t need to do anything else – just focus on your studies! If you achieve or exceed the tariff requirements for your chosen course, when you enrol with us, we will provide details on how you will receive payment in three instalments throughout the year to the bank account registered with the Student Loans Company.

If you’re joining us from overseas, you’re not eligible for the Derby Achievement Scholarship, although we have a range of scholarships and discounts available to international students.

The Derby Achievement Scholarship will apply to your first year of study only, however, we also provide financial assistance through the University Bursary to those who are eligible.
