Course description

Current estimates suggest that 1 in 100 individuals are living with some form of autism, a neurodevelopmental disorder. This session aims to fill a knowledge gap in schools and addresses priority issues on the political agenda. We combine higher level academic thinking with a practical approach.

As well as looking at the possible causes of autism and how it can affect a person’s learning and education, we will also reflect on the notion that there are superior skills associated with autism which educational practice could embrace.
