Throughout the year we run several events that students and staff can get involved in, a great opportunity to meet new friends, have fun and get active. 

Join the Get Active Events community on our UoD Active app to be first to sign up and to receive the latest event updates. To sign up simply:

  1. Download the app via the Google Play or Apple App Store
  2. Create an account using your university email address
  3. Join the Get Active Events community

Santa Dash

Our fun community run takes place in December. It's a great opportunity to take a well-deserved break and get you into the festive spirit. Take a break from work and study and have fun running or walking round the picturesque Markeaton Park with friends and colleagues.

BRIT Challenge

The British Inspiration Trust (BRIT) supports young adult mental health in the UK. We host our BRIT challenge during February to help raise awareness of student and staff health and well-being, and the link between mental health and fitness, whilst raising funds for charity.

This Derby Girl Can

This Derby Girl Can in March celebrates active women across our university community. We host a ‘girls afternoon in’ offering a variety of activities for females students and staff (and those identifying as female) supporting them to be active in a welcoming environment and to "do their thing".

Inclusive Sport Weeks

We host activities in May to help raise awareness of inclusive sport at Derby and provide activity opportunities to support those who may face challenges around accessibility.

By tradition a football event bringing together people of different faiths and beliefs to have fun playing and enjoying the 'beautiful game'. SIS is about friendship, celebrating diversity here at the University and bringing the community together.
