Scholarships for students from the Middle East

As a student from the Middle East, you could be eligible for our scholarships and discounts, which can be used together to offer a reduction in fees during your first year of study. You can apply for a scholarship once you have an offer from us.

You must be applying for a full-time degree. Applications for postgraduate research, online studies, foundation and pre-sessional language programmes are not eligible for a discount or scholarship. Please read our terms and conditions for details.

The Vice-Chancellor's Scholarship provides one full year’s tuition fees to a limited number of eligible undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Students will need to achieve high academic results exceeding the entry criteria for the course and demonstrate exceptional achievements in extracurricular activity, either in your own time or through your employment in the last two years in your personal statement.

Please note, the deadline for this scholarship has passed. The outcome of applications will be announced after 1 July 2023. Please read our terms and conditions for full details.

Below is a summary of our annual tuition fees for international students in UK pounds before any scholarship, bursary or discount has been applied.

The UK government has recently announced a new Graduate Route visa that allows international students to work, or look for work, at any skill level for a period of two years after completing their courses in the UK. 

General entry requirements

Foundation

  • Secondary School Certificate Shahadat Al-Thanawaya Al-Aama
  • Students with an overall score of 65% would usually be eligible for the International Foundation year
  • UKVI IELTS 4.5 with a minimum of 4.0 in all components (CEFR B1) is also required

Undergraduate

  • Applicants with a Shahadat Al-Thanawaya Al-Aama will normally need to complete an International Foundation Year

Postgraduate

  • We require a  Bachelor degree from a NARIC or government recognised institution, a typical offer would be:
  • A score of 2.7-3.3/4.0 is considered comparable to a UK 2:1 A score of 2.0-2.6/4.0 is considered comparable to a UK 2:2

English

  • The English Language requirement is Academic IELTS or if your previous study was taught in English then a recent MOI from the institution of study is required

 

International Foundation Year

  • Certificate of General Secondary Education
  • Students with an overall score of 65% or GOOD would usually be eligible for the International Foundation Year
  • UKVI IELTS 4.5 with a minimum of 4.0 in all components (CEFR B1) is also required

Undergraduate

  • Students with a minimum of 65% in the لوم دب االزﻫر (Al-Azhar Training Diploma) can typically be considered for direct entrance to Bachelor degree programmes
  • Students with 65% in the وس وری كال ب ال (Bachelor degree) from a NARIC or government recognised higher institute are eligible for advanced standing on degree programmes

Postgraduate

  • We require a a وس وری كال ب ال (Bachelor degree) from a NARIC or government recognised university. A typical offer would be a score of 80-89% is considered comparable to a UK 2:1, a score of 65-79% is comparable to a UK 2:2
  • For postgraduate research degrees, PhD applicants are expected to have a masters as well as a bachelors degree in the relevant subject areas. Most importantly applicants must submit a research proposal. You can find out more about how to apply here

International Foundation Year

  • Shahadat Al-Thanawaya Al-Aama
  • Students with an overall score of 60% would usually be eligible for the International Foundation Year
  • UKVI IELTS 4.5 with a minimum of 4.0 in all components (CEFR B1) is also required

Undergraduate

  • If you are studying and completing any internationally recognised qualification such as A-levels; International Baccalaureate (IB) or the American Curricula from the International Schools within Jordan, then you can begin from the first year of a Bachelors degree. Please see individual course pages for specific entry requirements
  • If you have completed a recognised international foundation programme with good grades
  • Advanced entry to year 2 or 3 may be possible. You will need to supply detailed information including courses taken, grades achieved, syllabus and a grading guide

Postgraduate

  • Students must have completed a subject relevant Bachelors degree with an overall score of 'Good' or above (2.25 GPA) from a recognised university in Jordan
  • For postgraduate research degrees, PhD applicants are expected to have a masters as well as a bachelors degree in the relevant subject areas. Most importantly applicants must submit a research proposal. You can find out how to apply here

  • Students with an overall score of 60% would usually be eligible for the International Foundation Year.

  • Students with a minimum GPA of 2.3 in a (University Diploma) can typically be considered for direct entrance to Bachelor programmes
  • Students with a minimum GPA of 2.3 in an (Associate Degree) can typically be considered for entrance to the second year of a Bachelor degree

Postgraduate

  • Bachelor degree Bachelor degrees from NARIC or government recognised institutions can normally be accepted for master’s studies
  • A GPA of 3.3 is considered comparable to a UK 2:1 A GPA of 2.3 is considered comparable to a UK 2:2

English

  • The English Language requirement is Academic IELTS or if your previous study was taught in English then a recent MOI from the institution of study is required

Foundation

  • General Education Diploma
    Students holding the General Education Diploma with a score of 65% would usually be accepted
  • UKVI IELTS 4.5 with a minimum of 4.0 in all components (CEFR B1) is also required

Undergraduate

  • Students with a minimum score of 65%, C+ or GPA of 2.3 in the (Diploma) can typically be considered for direct entrance to Bachelor programmes
  • Students with a minimum score of 65%, C+ or GPA of 2.3 in the (Higher / Advanced Diploma) can typically be considered for entrance to the final year of Bachelor programmes dependent upon module mapping

Postgraduate

  • Bachelor degree
    Bachelor degrees from NARIC or government recognised institutions can normally be accepted for master’s studies
  • A score of 3.0 is considered comparable to a UK 2:1 A score of 2.3 is considered comparable to a UK 2:2

English

  • The English Language requirement is Academic IELTS or if your previous study was taught in English then a recent MOI from the institution of study is required

Foundation

ال شهادة ال ثان وی ة ال عامة ل لمدارس ال م س ت ق لة – Senior School Certificate (Shahadat Al-Thanawaya Al-Aama)

  • Students with a grade C or Good (over 63%)
  • UKVI IELTS 4.5 with a minimum of 4.0 in all components (CEFR B1) is also required

Undergraduate

  • Students with a minimum GPA of 3.0/5 in the ال شهادة ال جام ع یة ال م تو سطة (Associate Degree) can typically be considered for entrance to the second year of Bachelor programmes.

Postgraduate

  • Bachelors degree

Foundation

شهادة ال ثان وی ة ال عامة – General Secondary Education Certificate

  • Students with an overall score of 70% in the General Secondary Education Certificate would usually be eligible for the International Foundation Year
  • UKVI IELTS 4.5 with a minimum of 4.0 in all components (CEFR B1) is also required

Undergraduate

دب لوم ال ك ل یات / ال م عاهد ال صح یة – Diploma from a Health College / Institute

دب لوم ال ك ل یات ال ت ق ن یة / ال م عاهد ال ف ن یة – Diploma from a Technical College / Vocational institute

  • Holders of the above awards with a minimum GPA of 3.0/5 are eligible for entrance onto a Bachelor programme

ال شهادة ال جام ع یة ال م تو سطة – Associate Degree

  • The Associate degree in Health Sciences with a minimum GPA 3.0/5 of will be considered for entrance to the second year of a Bachelor degree

ال شهادة ال جام ع یة ال م تو سطة ف ي ال ع لوم ال صح یة – Intermediate University Degree in Health Sciences

  • The Intermediate University degree in Health Sciences with a minimum GPA 3.0/5 of will be considered for entrance to the second year of a Bachelor degree

English

  • The English Language requirement is Academic IELTS or if your previous study was taught in English then a recent MOI from the institution of study is required

Postgraduate

  • Bachelors degree
