Derby's leading sports performance centre

Utilising the state of the art sport science facilities within the newly developed sports centre, the Human Performance Unit has been established to provide expert sport science services to sports clubs and individual athletes from beginners to elite performers.

Housed within the University's £10.8 million sports centre consisting of state-of-the-art facilities and equipment, the Human Performance Unit will use the knowledge and expertise of the Universities academic staff to deliver sport science support services and informative workshops. The Human Performance Unit will work closely with athletes and clients to develop their knowledge and understanding with a view to increasing performance. More specifically, this includes services that target improved physical training, recovery from exercise, exercise nutrition, sport psychology, injury prevention and rehabilitation to create a bespoke service that informs all areas linked directly to successful athletic competition and performance.
