Course description

On this short course, you will gain a general understanding of:

You will develop a more scientific approach to recording 'experiments' (dyeings) so you can achieve closer repeatable colours and leave with a file of technical information, recipes and material samples.

Structure, certificates and assessment

You'll start with an hour-long seminar which will introduce you to the topic and outline what activities you'll be undertaking. During the workshop, we'll demonstrate various techniques and you'll get the opportunity to practise these, including:

We'll then end with a final group critical review to analyse and discuss the results - successes and failures - as well as issues such as light and wash-fastness, sustainability, ethics and pH sensitivity.

There is no certificate or assessment for this workshop.
