PGR Development Fund 2023-2024

The University Research and Knowledge Exchange Office (URKEO) recognises the importance of supporting the development of postgraduate research (PGR) students and for this reason, provides the PGR Development Fund.

All PGR students who have successfully completed their Application for Registration are eligible to apply. PGR students who are members of staff are eligible to apply.

Funds are awarded on a competitive basis; they are not an entitlement and cannot be made retrospectively. Please ensure that you have read carefully the guidelines below before submitting an application form.

Applicants are invited to apply for a maximum of £500 of funding to support one development activity, such as attending training events or conferences. The fund will not support applications related to data collection or incentivisation payments. Applicants can only apply for one event in an academic year (September 2023-August 2024). Successful applicants will receive a contribution for costs up to a maximum of £500.

Students will be expected to obtain additional funding from other resources. It is to be hoped that Colleges will also support their students by making a contribution.

In order to apply to the fund, please complete the application form. (Please note that you will require an active UDo account to access the form).

There are five competition rounds for 2023-24. Please consider the times when applying. Applications should be made in advance of the event taking place.

An assessment panel will assess the applications. Normally, all applicants are informed of the decision within one month after the deadline.
