Centre for Business Improvement

The Centre for Business Improvement supports organisations in their goal to improve and maintain strong business performance through applied multi-disciplinary research. Our work has been widely published and the exchange of knowledge between the Centre and regional, national and international organisations has led to real improvements and impact within the business community.

The Centre is led by Professor Carley Foster and its work draws upon the academic expertise of staff predominately in the Business School and includes internationally recognised researchers, doctoral students and visiting scholars. We specialise in three areas of applied research:

We also welcome Doctoral applications in these areas - find out more.

We can support all types of organisations who are looking for advice and support in these areas. This includes commissioned research, consultancy, training, student projects and other knowledge exchange activity. Contact Professor Carley Foster for further details on email at c.foster@derby.ac.uk

Our Accounting Research Cluster is part of the Centre for Business Improvement. The cluster researches issues within the themes of accounting, accountability and ethics.
