Support and encouragement from her undergraduate lecturers and a desire to build more experience and knowledge were the reasons that Nicole chose to continue her Marketing studies at Derby on the MSc Marketing Management.

“My lecturers put so much time and effort into getting to know their students, and they inspired me to carry on to a Masters,” she explains. “The course fitted perfectly with my career aspirations as I was able to gain a wide variety of skills and knowledge, including working two days a week on an internship.”

Now an Account Executive in the retail industry, Nicole is enjoying her varied role, “planning and managing events, writing social media content and managing client relationships. I really enjoy the fast-paced world of agency work.”

She believes her postgraduate studies helped her secure this role: “My dissertation focused on the future of high street retail, so this was a great discussion point in my interview. I’ve benefited a lot from postgraduate study – having a Masters helps to set you apart, and I’m excited for what’s to come.”
