HELP Academy Malaysia

HELP Academy (HA) provides higher education courses to both domestic and international students.

The institute was established in 2006 under the HELP Group of Colleges (HELP), a group of highly reputable tertiary institutions. The formation of this private academy is part of the HELP Group‘s strategy to focus on managing educational and other learning facilities through its own centres, and in twinning with other institutions.

Promoted by HELP, HA, is expected to continue in the tradition of academic excellence of its parent, and HELP University (HU).

HU has acted as the academic sponsor of HA in the initial start-up phase. In performing this role, HU has actively supported HA in the design, accreditation and initial delivery of HA’s courses, appointment and induction of the staff, devising and putting in place the academic and administrative procedures and, as necessary, providing leadership in developing the marketing strategies and the student support services.

Presently, HU, with its 28-year history, has established itself as a premium institution of higher learning in Malaysia with over 8,000 students and 400 staff. It has developed a regional reputation for high-quality teaching and learning in economics, business, management, finance, law, entrepreneurship and psychology.

HA now offers selected British programmes, namely A-Levels (Cambridge and Edexcel), University of London International programmes and University of Derby 3+0 programmes, covering business, management, economics, social sciences and the humanities at pre-university and undergraduate levels.  It has also assumed a leading role in research and development in certain disciplines and subject areas.

Programmes

The University has approved the following programmes to run at HELP Academy:

Enrolment

HELP Academy enrols students twice a year, in January and September. All students are enrolled at the HELP Academy first and then registered with University of Derby. Once enrolled, the students have access to the University’s virtual learning environment (University of Derby Online) where online resources and learning materials are available.

Students will receive administrative support from both HELP Academy and University of Derby.

Award ceremonies

Awarding students attend a University of Derby awards ceremony held at HELP Academy in April. There is also an option to graduate at the University of Derby awards ceremony in the UK instead.
