We have been awarded Gold in the prestigious Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) 2023

The University of Derby has been awarded Gold in the prestigious Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) 2023 – making it one of the top universities in the country recognised for its outstanding student experience and student outcomes.

The TEF is a national scheme run by the Office for Students that aims to encourage higher education providers to improve and deliver excellence in the areas that students care about the most: teaching, learning and achieving positive outcomes from their studies.

We designate suitably qualified staff to oversee the management of our partnerships
Our staff (academic and professional services) visit partners regularly to provide advice, support and staff development as required
We provide marketing support to our partners to help promote our programmes and partnership working
Partner staff are eligible to apply for University Accredited Lecturer status and are granted access to the University’s Virtual Learning Environment (VLE,) from which they can access teaching and learning materials
Partner staff have the opportunity to engage in our communities of practice (e.g. Academic Partnerships Masterclasses and DELTA: Academic and Digital Practice Development Sessions)
Our academic staff will deliver guest lectures and seek to make collaborative research opportunities available to our partners
Partner staff are invited to attend key University events including our regular annual Learning and Teaching Conference, which provides staff development and valuable networking opportunities
Our administration systems have been externally audited and are deemed to be sector-leading
Partner students are enrolled with the University and are granted access to the University’s Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) from which they are able to access teaching and learning materials
Partner students receive a University of Derby Award upon successful completion of their programme of study
