One Friar Gate Square

Welcome to the School of Law and Social Sciences, home to our Criminology, Law, Policing and Social Sciences staff and students.

This distinctive building is a self-contained site within Derby city centre. All students based here have access to library facilities, the Union of Students' Blends cafe, spacious and newly refurbished learning spaces, and specialist training facilities.

One Friar Gate Square is a 10-minute walk into the city centre and a 25-minute walk from our Kedleston Road site. All halls of residence are within easy walking distance.

Accessibility

The Unibus is a bus service available to all students with a valid student ID card, and it runs all year round. It connects all University sites within Derby city and has stops at halls of residence, Derby city centre, Derby bus station and train station.
