New funding for nursing and allied health courses

In December 2019, the Government announced new plans for funding for nursing and allied health courses in the UK.  

From September 2020, all new and continuing nursing and many allied health students on pre-registration courses will receive a grant of at least £5,000 per year. This grant is not means-tested and will not have to be repaid. The funding will supplement existing support available to pre-registration students, such as tuition fee and maintenance loans.

The process for obtaining the grant has not yet been confirmed, but all students on the listed courses will be eligible for the grants in the 2020/21 academic year. Full details are available on the government website.
