Permanent
graduate
vacancies

Do you have a vacancy for a professional role that is well suited to a newly qualified graduate? Maybe you even have a specific graduate development programme? If that’s the case, we can help you find the best candidates to fill those roles.

Advertising your roles

If you have your job advert ready to go, the best option is to upload it to our vacancy portal, which all our students and graduates have access to. This allows you to take control of your opportunities and manage and edit them yourself.

You will need to register for an account on the portal first and confirm your email address — please do this so we can stay in touch with you.

Once your roles are on the portal, we will make sure they are promoted through:

In addition, we will make sure your opportunities are seen by relevant academics.

Please note we have a few rules about advertising jobs.

“Since joining the team, our graduate hardware engineer, Adil, has excelled in supporting our strive for continuous improvement and played a vital role in new product introduction. He has worked on no less than seven new products in the time since joining us and is a credit to the organisation.”

– Tim Telford, Hardware Director at Devtank, an open source engineering company based in Derbyshire.

Raise your company's profile

A good way to raise interest and awareness of your company on-campus, is to share your knowledge with our students and graduates through mentoring or specific skills and information sessions.

Why work with Derby?

This is a university of applied learning. We make sure our students build practical and technical skills during their course through work-related projects and work experience, as well as optional year-long placements. In fact, we insist that our second years complete 30 hours of course-related work experience because we believe it’s so important.

Thanks to our active Careers and Employment Service, students often continue this valuable ‘real-world learning’ beyond their course, through internships, volunteering and casual or part-time work

All of this means that when they leave Derby, our new graduates are already experienced at using their knowledge to solve real business issues and problems. They are ready and able to work.
