Small Business Leadership Programme

This programme has now ended and a new series of leadership and management courses for small and medium sized businesses is in development. Find out more below.

Programme Closed

The Small Business Leadership Programme was part of a government funded initiative which has now closed, and we are no longer able to receive applications. However, we are currently developing a new series of management and leadership courses for small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs). The online courses will provide an opportunity for staff to update their knowledge in an easily accessible and convenient way, even when working from home.

Help to Grow: Management

The Derby Business School is accredited by the Small Business Charter in recognition of the excellent support we provide SMEs. As such, we have been selected to deliver a new national initiative ‘Help to Grow: Management’. The programme was recently announced as part of the Government Budget 2021, and will enable senior managers to enhance their skills in areas critical to business growth including leadership, innovation, digital adoption, sustainability and employee engagement.

The cost of attending the programme will be 90 per cent subsidised by the Government as part of approximately £220 million in funding to support small business recovery and growth. Small and medium sized businesses with five to 249 employers from all industries within the economy will be eligible.
