Derby Business School offers a range of degree programmes that differentiate us, industry-linked first-class technology enhanced facilities, and an academic research team that is renowned across the globe. Why the polar bear?

We’re committed to tackling some of the world’s biggest challenges, working in partnership with global brands including Rolls-Royce, Alstom, the NHS and Toyota. The polar bear represents our ambition to create a sustainable future and our promise to help our partners find cleaner, alternative solutions to reduce and reverse the negative effects of climate change.

Through this important work and our research in zero carbon, we are driving significant change. We have zero carbon experts who inform international, national and regional policy. As a university, we have already supported 1,000 companies though our de-carbonise project, achieving savings of 32,000 tonnes of CO2.

Our impact extends outside of the lecture theatre. The UN’s Sustainable Development Goals are embedded within the curriculum, giving our students opportunities to develop a sustainability mindset so they’re ready to tackle business challenges of the future.

In a city founded on enterprise, we’re networked into the business community. Our partnerships span global corporates, SMEs and the leading professional bodies. Our students mix with the region’s brightest business minds through work placements, consultancy projects, professional mentoring, case studies, industry visits, guest speakers and networking events to apply their studies to real world scenarios.

Derby Business School has become the latest business school to be awarded the Small Business Charter. This national accolade awarded by the Chartered Association of Business Schools is in recognition of the business school’s high standard of support for small businesses and the local economy, as well as the work it does in developing entrepreneurial skills in students. Derby Business School is also a full member of the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) - a network of business schools and corporations dedicated to enhance excellence in management education and development globally.
