Course description

These online interactive workshops are ideal for student, staff and industry researchers across all levels, with the aim to support those who wish to conduct postgraduate and PhD level research. The course will help you to develop a better understanding of IPA, as well as providing the opportunity to discuss IPA interview schedule designs, and review stages involved in analysis.

It is not essential that you sign up for all three sessions.

Session 1: Planning and starting your IPA project (including pre-session slides and presentation) 2-4pm Wednesday 5 May 2021

An interactive session in which participants discuss research questions that align with IPA and work around constructing and exploring a semi-structured interview schedule.

free pre-recorded lecture providing a brief introduction to some of the underpinning theoretical background related to IPA will be shared in advance.

Session 2: Beginning your analysis (including pre-session slides and presentation) 2-4pm Wednesday 12 May 2021

An interactive session in which participants work around engaging in a single case interpretative phenomenological analysis. Transcribed data will be provided.

A free pre-recorded lecture providing a brief introduction to some of the underpinning theoretical background related to IPA will be shared in advance.

Session 3: Q&A to follow on from either session 2-3pm Wednesday 19 May 2021

A group session in which the webinar tutor facilitates a Q&A.

All three events are taking place online. Participants will receive login details before the event.

Fees and funding

For all three sessions, the course is £200.
