The team at Derby Law School unlocked great potential in me. I was able to achieve so much more than I thought I was capable of doing. Their willingness and dedication to help you to succeed is remarkable, and I am extremely thankful.

Based at the distinctive One Friar Gate Square building in the city centre, we have a self-contained site, which houses its own cafe, learning spaces and specialist facilities including a replica Crown Court, interview rooms and student legal advice centre, making it the perfect environment for innovative and engaging learning.

Derby Law School also plays a large part in The Social, Cultural and Legal Research Centre based on site. Within the centre, there is a legal and justice research cluster, which conducts research on a wide range of interests; published work includes white collar crime, human rights law, medical law and criminal law.  We also publish our own Derby Law Journal in which students have the opportunity to get their work professionally published if it is of exceptional quality. Many of our postgraduate academics are active within the research centre meaning that you’ll benefit from the research-informed teaching that is up to date with the latest developments and thinking in your subject area.
