Dr Alice Doherty, Academic lead for psychology, is a multidisciplinary teacher with varied teaching experience in a range of subjects including Psychology and English as a Foreign Language.

Gulcan Garip
Dr Gulcan Garip
Academic Lead in Psychology

Dr Gülcan Garip is the Academic Lead for the MSc and PG Diploma Psychology programmes and teaches on the MSc Health Psychology programme. Gülcan is a registered Chartered Psychologist with the British Psychological Society (BPS), a registered Health Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council, and a member of the BPS Division of Health Psychology.

Dr Claire Hampson
Lecturer in Psychology

Claire began working for the University of Derby in 2011 in the campus Psychology team. Following maternity leave Claire returned to work as a Remote Lecturer in Psychology for UDOL in 2016. Claire's areas of interest and expertise lie within the areas of Health and Clinical Psychology.

Melanie Haughton
Lecturer in Psychology

Lecturer in Psychology, Melanie Haughton, has worked in education since 2000. Melanie has worked as a Higher Education Learning Mentor, she has also worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Lancaster University and as an Associate Academic at the University of Derby.

Lecturer in Psychology

Lecturer in Psychology, Sophie Jackson joined the University of Derby in April 2019 having previously worked as a teaching assistant at The University of West London and as a research assistant at Goldsmiths, University of London and Canterbury Christ Church University.

Dr Laura Rayment
Senior Lecturer in Psychology

Dr Laura Rayment previously worked in prison psychology and was involved in research into the treatment of criminal psychopaths. Laura began working for the University of Derby Online Learning in 2014 as an Associate Academic, became a Lecturer in 2016, and is currently a Senior Lecturer in Psychology, working on a range of Undergraduate and Postgraduate modules.

Dr Natalie Zadurian
Lecturer in Psychology

Senior Lecturer for Computing and Information Technology, Barry Blundell, is a physicist and engineer. He is also an Accreditation Inspector for the British Computer Society (BCS), and for the British Accreditation Council (BAC).
