Highest new entrant - Mi Hub

Mi Hub, based in Castle Donington, is an international supplier of corporate clothing uniform solutions to businesses and individuals. It trades through its four brands: Dimensions, Yaffy, Affinity and Alexandra.

Mi Hub features in the Top 200 list for the first time this year and is our highest-placed new entrant, at number 25.

Mi Hub was formed in August 2019, when the management team of Derbyshire-based Dimensions acquired the Corporate Apparel Division of Tailored Brands Inc. The company then acquired US-based Affinity Apparel in October 2020, further expanding its reach.

Mi Hub now has offices in the UK, Europe, USA and Bangladesh, and is a global workwear solutions company. Its clients include McDonalds, Greggs, Co-op, the Police and the NHS.

Mi Hub is well-located in the Willow Farm Business Park in Castle Donington, only 2.5 miles away from East Midlands Airport and therefore close to the planned East Midlands Freeport, which is set to open later this year (2022). As the UK’s only inland Freeport, it will drive economic regeneration across the East Midlands.

Sustainable and ethical practices

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and ethical practices are a key part of Mi Hub's business. For instance, it was the first corporate wear company to be a fully registered member of the Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI) — a leading alliance of companies, trade unions and NGOs that promotes respect for workers' rights around the globe.

Through its ETI membership, Mi Hub joined the Business Partnerships for Global Goals (BP4GG) programme, which invests in partnerships with businesses to test and scale shared value initiatives that support achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Through the BP4GG programme, Mi Hub worked with garment manufacturers in Bangladesh during the Covid-19 pandemic, helping women to earn a living, stay safe and be respected, as well as distributing care packages and supporting the implementation of safe processes such as social distancing.

Mi Hub has also worked hard to minimise waste and single-use plastics, reducing its packaging significantly, setting up recycling processes, and creating garments through sustainable production methods, including those made from 100% recycled material.

Digital Innovation

The company has also been ahead of the curve in its sector, in terms of digital innovation. It started providing a bespoke online solution as far back as 2007 and in 2018 was shortlisted for the computing's Digital Technology Leaders Awards for its market leading software, Detail. In early 2020, the company added to its digital offer with Mi Dimensions, an exclusive area of the Dimensions website which gives users access to industry articles, interviews with staff, infographics, trends in fashion, video content and more.
