Course description

An alternative to a traditional MBA, this masters-level apprenticeship is for leaders who want to develop their direction and vision, learn how to take account of market trends and environmental influences, and identify longer-term opportunities and risks.

You will explore inclusive leadership and learn to develop ethical, innovative and supportive cultures that deliver results.

Which pathway?

You can choose to complete either an MSc in Strategic Leadership or a Professional MBA. If you already strategically head up a discipline or department, the MSc route will be best for you. If you are more operationally-focused and need to develop a greater understanding of the strategy across all disciplines and departments, choose the MBA route.

An MBA programme is designed for leaders and managers seeking to make an impact in public, private or third sector organisations of all sizes. It is considered to be key to progression into a successful senior leadership career for practising managers.

Student learning takes place in an academic environment and in the workplace, incorporating real work based scenarios that are applied in the context of new management practice. You will develop a strategic, holistic and integrated perspective of business, organisations and management

The programme includes a significant strategically focused project applied to your organisation providing the opportunity to personalise the programme aligned to business objectives and personal ambitions.

The programme is completed over 30 months, upon successful completion of the programme, learners may be eligible to apply for Fellowship of the CMI or ILM independently of the University.

Modules are carefully designed for the broad knowledge requirements of a senior manager/leader, covering:

  • The Sustainable Global Business Environment
