Emma Humphreys - Research Projects - University of Derby

Emma Humpherys

Emma Humphreys, Health & Social Care Student talks about her experience with the URSS

‌Why I applied to the URSS?

I believe that it is a good opportunity to get information about research and putting the theory of my subject to practice.

My Project and why I chose to pursue it.

My topic is to do with The Influence of Understanding a Substance Misuse Module on the Attitudes of Social Work Students. I want to go forward in a medical career and I feel that the URSS will benefit me in working with individuals.

What I gained from taking part of the project?

The skills I have gained include networking skills and gathering the appropriate information for your project.

Do you have any advice for those who are thinking of joining?

I would say the pros are that you can take part in research and you can further your own knowledge and network with professionals. The cons are that it is a bit of extra work, but it is manageable.
