I work for Oxford University Press in the English Language Teaching division and I am a post-graduate student with the College of Science and Engineering. I firmly believe in the power and importance of reading for pleasure. As an advocate, I strive to promote the joy of reading and its numerous benefits. My research aims to further the understanding of low socioeconomic parental engagement as a barrier to reading for pleasure. I enjoy creating and testing novel interventions that stimulate the imagination, enhance critical thinking skills and help children to grow socially, intellectually and emotionally, irrespective of environmental and socioeconomic factors.
