About

I joined the University of Derby in January of 2018. After completing my PhD at Nottingham Trent University, I completed post-doctoral research at the Wellcome Centre for Integrative Neuroimaging (University of Oxford) where I used MRI to [1] investigate relationships between psychology and pain, and [2] tested the efficacy of a novel painkiller. My area of expertise is in the judgements of crime; specifically sexual crimes and those involving the non-consensual dissemination of private sexual images (eg 'revenge porn', 'upskirting').

Teaching responsibilities

I am Programme Leader for the MSc Forensic Psychology and oversee the Independent Studies, Victimology, and Advanced Quantitvative Statistics modules on that programme.

Professional interests

Outside of academia, I am a board member of MindSet Tech, a company which seeks to develop novel AI-driven means of assessing, understanding and intervening in student mental-wellbeing and I also work closely with the Aftermath: Surviving Psychopathy charity wherein I translate research into easily accessible material for the general public.
