About

I am a self-published novelist, artist and scriptwriter from the former mining town of Bolsover, Derbyshire. Following my undergraduate studies in Film and Video Production, I worked on a variety of independent film projects as a writer and script editor, before turning my attention to prose, writing and publishing my first novel, the self-described neo-noir “Mea Culpa”, in 2016.

An enthusiast of the Western and Southern Gothic genres, my writing deals with issues of loss, violence, regret, low-rent love and morally questionable heroes, all the while featuring a down-to-Earth authenticity indicative of a writer who knows where he comes from.

Thesis title

The Great Divide: Masculinity, Morality and Class Through the Lens of the Southern Gothic.
