The partnership with the University follows the success of ‘The University of Derby presents…Open Day Live’, hosted by Radzi in September.

It was a trailblazing online event for prospective students, designed to ensure that despite the pandemic preventing them from visiting the University, they could find out all about life and study at Derby through Radzi’s interviews with staff and current students.

Radzi has also just published his debut book entitled ‘Move Like A Lion’, which aims to help children with their physical and mental wellbeing.

He said: “The whole premise about Making Gains is about people on the pursuit of excellence.

“I am fascinated by human beings who are totally dedicated to and obsessed with that pursuit, and the show will be about talking to those people and finding out what makes them tick, how they do what they do and how other people can do exactly the same thing.

“I am so excited to find out these things and delighted to be working with the University of Derby to be able to share it through this series of podcasts.”

Smita Chohan, Interim Director of Marketing and Communications at the University of Derby, said: “Radzi’s involvement in the Open Day Live event was pivotal to its appeal and success, and we are delighted to be supporting the Making Gains podcast series.

“Radzi has become an important ambassador for Derby and it is fantastic to build on our relationship with him by working in partnership to deliver what promises to be a fascinating series for anyone who has an interest in what it takes to succeed in your chosen field.”
