Make your university dreams real at Derby through Clearing 2021

5 August 2021

The University of Derby’s Clearing hotline (01332 592021) is open for students receiving their A-Level results from 8.30am on Tuesday 10 August.

Students may find they have been graded differently this year in light of Covid-19, and others may still be looking for a place, had a change of heart about where to study, or had their gap year plans placed on hold due to the pandemic.

Clearing is the process which enables people to look at the options available to them for entering into higher education in September, whatever the change in circumstance, and there is a fantastic selection of courses still to choose from at Derby.

June Hughes, University Secretary and Registrar at the University of Derby, said: “We understand that this has been such a challenging year for students and that across the country they will be anxiously counting down the hours to receiving their A-level results.

“Over the years we have taken thousands of calls during Clearing from students either disappointed that they haven’t got into their chosen university, or thrilled that they’ve done better than expected, so can embark on a course that may have originally seemed out of reach. This year is no different, and our staff will be on hand to guide them through the process, as well as offer advice to help them make important decisions about their future.

“I’d like to wish all students receiving their results the very best of luck for Tuesday – they have done brilliantly to get through the year and whatever the outcome I’m sure they’ll find a place that’s right for them.”

The Clearing hotline will remain open from:

·       8.30am-8pm, Tuesday 10 August

·       8am-8pm, Wednesday 11 August

·       9am-6pm, Thursday 12 August and Friday 13 August

·       10am-4pm, Saturday 14 August

·       9am-5pm, Monday to Friday from 16 August (excluding Bank Holiday Monday).

Students don’t have to wait until results day on Tuesday to call the University of Derby’s hotline number if they are reconsidering their degree course or university choice. The Clearing line (01332 592021) is open now to speak to someone about their options.

During Clearing, campus tours will also be available so people can visit the university, meet students and talk to staff. To book a tour visit
