If you have a passion for a particular sport or just enjoy being active, Derby is the university for you.

With our fantastic sports centre facility at our Kedleston Road Campus, there are plenty of clubs, sports activities, and fitness opportunities for you to get involved in.

You can enjoy a variety of sports and fitness activities through our Sports Centre membership and UoD Active programme.

The Sports Centre is fully equipped with facilities such as badminton courts, a newly refurbished gym, exercise studios, squash courts, a climbing wall, 3G pitches and outdoor tennis courts.

And with over 40 sports clubs on offer, there’s sure to be something here for you at Derby.

Outside of the university, sport is central to Derby’s culture. It’s home to The Rams Pride Park Stadium, has a 250-metre indoor velodrome, Moorways Sports Village and Water Park, golf courses and one of the country’s best BMX tracks.

And for those of you who are into adventure sports, the Peak District National Park hosts a range of outdoor sports and is just a stone’s throw away.

Whether you’re looking to get active, remain active, or find a new sporting passion, do it at Derby.

The thrill I get when using the University of Derby’s sports centre is great. I enjoy unleashing my potential and challenging myself in the badminton court, the state-of-the-art fitness suite and gym, the dynamic cycling studio, and the squash courts!
