About

My career began in the chemical industry with Illbruck gmbh, a German tier 1 supplier to the Global automotive industry - working on sound absorption projects for the car industry working in the US. Canada and Germany.

After that period, I entered into management as a Business development manager with a large Industrial group. Shortly after, I became a senior director with the group of companies and became director, in Mergers and Acquisitions.

During March 2000 I led a buyout team to acquire the organisation. After this point, I entered the Higher education sector starting as a tutor teaching, Finance, and Mergers and Acquisitions from a practitioner’s perspective.

My teaching career is international having taught in Asia and many other parts of the world.

Research interests

My research interests lay in bank lending behaviour and the impact of constrained liquidity on small firms in Europe. The research also extend to the examination of how banks manage risk using derivative instruments.

In addition to this area of research, I am also very interested in Islamic banking and its construction in contrast to the retail banking sector in the UK and Europe.
