About

I am a Lecturer in Education and Chlidhood. I teach on the BA (Hons) in Education Studies within the Institute of Education. 

I have an additional role as a sociology lecturer within the Access and Further Education Centre.

Teaching responsibilities

I lead modules in Reasearch Methods for Independent Study and Contemporary Debates in Education and Lifelong Learning, as well as teaching Sociology of Education. I also supervise students carrying out undergraduate research projects.

Research interests

I am interested in all aspects of education, especially its cultural construction and meaning.

Recent conferences

At the BESA (British Education Studies Association) conference at the University of Bolton in June 2018, I gave a prentation entitled 'The transformative power of education in Emily Bronte's Wuthering Heights'.
