I joined the University of Derby as a Lecturer in Economics in 2016. Before joining here, I was working as a Research Assistant at the University of Huddersfield. Currently, I am the Programme Leader for MSc International Business and Finance.

I am also the Bloomberg Lead in the Business School responsible for promoting the adoption of Bloomberg as a teaching and learning tool across the school by conducting training workshops for other staff members.

Research interests

My research spans various sub-fields of Economics, such as International Economics, Environmental Economics and Cultural Economics. Some of my recent works involve topics relating to the growth effects of FDI, remittances and international trade, the role of environmental taxes and the impact of hydraulic fracturing on local communities.

Research projects

As an Impact Evaluation Consultant, I co-led the assessment of the £1.4 million Innovate 4 Rail project. The Innovate 4 Rail project was a three-year collaboration between the University of Derby, University of Birmingham and Rail Forum Midlands that started in July 2020. The aim of the project was to stimulate and support innovation and drive productivity among small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire (D2N2) Rail Sector Supply Chains. The collaboration was funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF)
