I joined the University of Derby as a Lecturer in Economics in January 2016. Before joining here, I was working as a Research Assistant at the University of Huddersfield. Currently, I am the Programme Leader for BA (Hons) Economics and the Subject Leader for Joint Honours Economics.

I am also the Bloomberg Lead in the Business School responsible for promoting the adoption of Bloomberg as a teaching and learning tool across the school by conducting training workshops for other staff members.

Research interests

My research spans across various sub-fields of Economics, such as International Economics, Environmental Economics and Cultural Economics. Some of my recent works involve topics relating to growth effects of FDI, remittances and international trade, the role of environmental taxes and the impact of hydraulic fracturing on local communities.

During my PhD, I worked as an intern in the Central and West Asia Department of the Asian Development Bank (Manila) in 2013.
